Karim Idilby is the firm’s Operating Partner leading the engagement with Foundation Holdings’ portfolio companies.   He works closely with the all of the various management teams providing strategic and operational guidance on tactical growth and integration plans, technology and digital transformation and organizational effectiveness to optimize market positioning, strengthen operations and increase profitability. 

Bringing over 15 years of experience to Foundation Holdings, Karim started his career with strategy consultancy Marakon Associates (UK) managing multiple strategic engagements for global multi-nationals across Europe such as Roche, Lloyds, Santander and De Beers, focusing on growth strategy development, market access and optimization of core operational capabilities.

Following his MBA at INSEAD, he spent a decade at global healthcare giant, Bupa, holding multiple strategy, operational and leadership positions.  Karim spent five years as the Group Strategy Manager in Bupa’s Corporate Centre, working directly with the Group CEO and a further five years as GM of Bupa Global Africa, India and Middle East based in Dubai, where, under his leadership, the business successfully doubled in size and profitability.

Karim also serves as an Independent Board Member of Gulf General Cooperative Insurance Company, a publicly listed general insurance company based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
